The Toronto Raptors selected Anthony Leon “P. J.” Tucker Jr. in the second round (35th overall) in 2006. Tucker is the 2021 NBA champion and plays the position of power forward/small forward.

Tucker was a University of Texas basketball player from 2003 to 2006. Tucker had an outstanding college career, earning him the titles of second-team All-American and Big 12 Player of the Year (2006). He was also named to the Big 12 Freshman All-Star Team (2004).

The Toronto Raptors selected Tucker thirty-fifth overall in the 2006 NBA Draft after playing college basketball. On July 26, 2006, he signed a two-year contract with the Raptors.
