NXT changed the game for the women’s division and Paige recently shared her thoughts on Asuka being one of the best.
The Japanese star was undefeated during her time, at least no one was able to pin or submit her, and she also had the longest reign as the NXT Women’s Champion too.
Paige, who hasn’t wrestled for a couple of years due to an injury, spoke about the Japanese star too.
A Twitter user suggested that Asuka was the greatest champion ever in the history of NXT. The fan highlighted that Asuka wasn’t pinned, submitted and dominated the division before having to relinquish her title.
Paige reminded the fan that she also had to give up the title before making her debut on the main roster.
However, the British star agreed that Asuka was the top women’s wrestler in NXT.
The Japanese was billed as top star while she worked on the development circuit in NXT.
NXT has produced several quality female talents over the years, including Paige. Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks and Bayley are a few that were superb during their time in that brand.
However, Asuka was on another level and her move to the main brands worked well initially.
WWE was never able to make that transition well and she recently lost to Lynch for the Raw Women’s title.
Asuka has done well alongside Kairi Sane and has been tag champs for a while. Hopefully, the Empress of Tomorrow gets her groove back soon, and we see her pick up one of the top female titles soon.
