Pau Gasol Sáez a.k.a Pau Gasol was the 2001, Round 1, 3rdoverall draft pick by the Atlanta Hawks. However, Gasol’s draft rights were traded by the Hawks to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Notably, Gasol plays in the position of Center / Power forward and he is also a two-time NBA champion (2009, 2010).

While starting his professional basketball career, Gasol played in the Liga ACB for FC Barcelona. He played for FC Barcelona from 1998 to 2001.

Then, in 2001, Gasol was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks but was subsequently traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. In his NBA rookie year, Gasol averaged 17.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. Consequently, Gasol became the first foreign player to win the NBA Rookie of the Year Award and was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

Gasol played seven seasons for the Grizzlies and on February 1, 2008, Memphis traded Gasol to the Los Angeles Lakers. Moreover, on December 24, 2009, Gasol signed a 3-year extension with the Lakers worth $64.7 million.

Gasol then became the 2009 and 2010 NBA champion, partnering with NBA legend, Kobe Bryant.

Next, on July 18, 2014, Gasol signed with the Chicago Bulls. He played for just two seasons with the Bulls.

On July 14, 2016, Gasol next signed with the San Antonio Spurs. Then, on April 12, 2017, Gasol scored 13 points to reach 20,000 career points in a 101–97 regular-season finale loss against the Utah Jazz, becoming the second European player to reach the mark after Dirk Nowitzki. However, on March 1, 2019, he was released by the Spurs in a buyout agreement.

On March 3, 2019, Gasol signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. He played in three games for the Bucks. On March 23, it was reported that Gasol had a left ankle injury. Gasol’s injury ended his season.

On July 25, 2019, Gasol signed with the Portland Trail Blazers. Nevertheless, on November 20, he was waived by the Trail Blazers without having played in a game for the team.
