Roman Reigns seems to have made a deal with Paul Heyman

WWE SmackDown ended on an incredible note with two of their top stars joining forces.

It was Roman Reigns who made a huge splash last week and he did so again teaming up with Paul Heyman.

That was one of the hits from this week’s SmackDown but there were a few segments that just weren’t good too.

Misses

1) Shorty G gets the short end again

Baron Corbin vs Matt Riddle is the fight that everyone wants to see, yet WWE gave them Riddle vs Shorty G.

Riddle made light work of his rival and he will face Corbin at Payback, but this was another poor showing for G.

It seemed that he would do well pairing up with Corbin but barely got a couple of minutes to show off his abilities on SmackDown.

2) Poor Gulak

Drew Gulak was another star who got the short end of the stick again. Braun Strowman destroyed him in a match and this was a storyline from last week where Gulak came out to save Strowman but was attacked by the monster.

Someone has to bear the brunt of Strowman’s attack but Gulak getting beat up two weeks in a row is a bit of a negative for one of the best technical wrestlers on the roster.

3) Big E teaming up

WWE had spoken about Big E getting his singles push and he got a win on this week’s SmackDown too.

However, that took place in a tag team match as E was teamed up with Heavy Machinery.

E has won several times in a tag team and they should concentrate on his singles career but that didn’t seem to be the plan this week.

Hits

1) Heyman and Reigns

Heyman and Reigns is a weird combination given that the pair have had their problems in the past.

However, with Brock Lesnar out of the scene, for now, it will be interesting to see how the pair do.

Heyman is possibly the best manager on WWE’s roster now and he can write a great story too. Reigns is looking to win his title back and with Heyman by his side, there could be a lot of destruction from the former champion.

2) The rightful IC champion

Sami Zayn was the second star to return to WWE after a long time. He took out Jeff Hardy, the current Intercontinental Champion, while he carried his belt too.

WWE haven’t done a lot for Zayn since he decided not to fight during the coronavirus pandemic. But it is interesting that both he and Reigns returned one after the other to WWE.

Zayn should get a chance to fight for the title and that could be a great match too.

3) The seeds of discontent

Bayley ripped apart Sasha Banks after the Boss lost her title to Asuka. The pair now face Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler as they try to keep hold of their tag titles.

Banks looked extremely upset at the jibes from Bayley and a split should be coming soon. It will be interesting to see what happens at Payback but a major story could be coming out of it.
