On January 4, 2021, Reed made his NBA debut against the Charlotte Hornets in a 118-101 victory.

Reed played the final 90 seconds of the game and scored two points on his lone field goal attempt. Paul competed with the Blue Coats in the 2021 G League’s condensed single-site season, where he was named the league’s Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year.
