UFC’s Paulo Costa took a cheeky dig at reigning UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya on Twitter earlier this week.
On Tuesday, Paulo Costa got stuck into his former foe Israel Adesanya in a series of Twitter posts. The Brazilian posted an image of a girl and asked his fans why she shared physical characteristics with Adesanya.
Adesanya fought Costa at UFC 253 in September 2020 for the middleweight title. However, ‘Stylebender’ ended the Brazilian’s unbeaten streak in MMA with a vicious KO in the second round.
The gulf in class between the two fighters was visible for all to see as Adesanya quickly and strategically broke done his opponent with several leg kicks before pouncing on Costa at the right opportunity. The two had been involved in a series of trash-talking prior to their bout and Adesanya made sure to quieten the Brazilian, at least for the time being.
What did Paulo Costa do to Israel Adesanya?
While their rivalry in the Octagon ended in 2020, Paulo Costa still seems to have a strong disliking for Israel Adesanya. The 30-year-old recently took to Twitter and likened the middleweight king to a girl, who was part of a meme.
After posting a meme about how girls look in the club vs how they look the next morning on his Twitter account, ‘Borrachinha’ responded to his own post by writing, “Why does this girl look like Adesanya?”
It seems that Adesanya, who is quite active on social media, may not have seen Costa’s latest online jibe towards him. Adesanya recenly fought Robert Whittaker in February and came out victorious again, defending his belt for the fourth time in a row.
But does Costa’s latest tweet suggest that he wants a rematch as well with the current UFC middleweight champ?
