Peja Stojakovic Career

Predrag Stojaković a.k.a Peja Stojakovic was the 1996, Round 1, 14th overall draft pick by the Sacramento Kings. Stojakovic played in the position of Small forward and he is also the 2011 NBA champion.

Stojakovic’s professional basketball career began in 1992 when he started playing for the club named Crvena zvezda (Red Star Belgrade). Then in 1993, Stojkovic joined the Greek League club PAOK Thessalonik. With PAOK, he won the 1994–95 Greek Cup tournament.

In the 1996 NBA Draft, Stojakovic was selected fourteenth overall by the Sacramento Kings. He played for the Kings from 1998 to 2006. During his time with the Kings, Stojakovic won the Three-Point Contest two times (2002, 2003).

On January 25, 2006, Stojaković was traded to the Indiana Pacers. Subsequently, in 2006 offseason, Stojakovic signed with the New Orleans Hornets (now New Orleans Pelicans). Stojakovic played for New Orleans from 2006 to 2010.

Then on November 20, 2010, Stojaković was traded to the Toronto Raptors. However, on January 20, 2011, Stojakovic was released by the Raptors.

On January 24, 2011, he signed a deal with the Dallas Mavericks. With the Mavericks, Stojakovic became an NBA champion in 2011.

Finally, on December 19, 2011, Stojakovic announced his retirement from basketball.

After his NBA career was over, Stojakovic, in August 2015, was appointed director of player personnel and development for the Sacramento Kings. Subsequently, in May 2018, Stojaković was announced as Assistant General Manager for the Sacramento Kings. However, on August 15, 2020, Stojakovic stepped down from his position of Assistant General Manager.
