Arsenal face Dundalk in their second group stage game of the Europa League. The Gunners haven’t had the best run of results coming into this fixture. They have alternated between losses and wins in their last 4 games, with their last game against Leicester ending in a narrow defeat.
Dundalk themselves aren’t in great form either. They are coming into this on the back of two successive losses at the hands of Molde and Waterford. The Gunners are expected to edge this one out but given the bad form of both teams, it is impossible to tell what the game has in store.
Only Gabriel Martinelli is a confirmed absentee due to injury. Elsewhere, Mesut Ozil and Sokratis were excluded from the squad, so there are no chances of seeing them either.
There do remain some doubtful names such as Calum Chambers, Pablo Mari and Rob Holding. David Luiz and Bukayo Saka are doubtful as well after their injuries against Leicester City. Arteta might just throw in the youngsters for this game to rest key players, keeping in mind the clash against Manchester United at the weekend.
The new man with the gloves might get to make his debut in his new colours. He might get a good run of games in the competition as well.
The Bosnian returns for this game, most likely as a part of squad rotation.
With Luiz doubtful after the injury he picked up during the weekend, Mustafi might be called on for his first start of the season.
A regular face in the backline for the club nowadays. Gabriel has settled in well for Arsenal.
Replaces Bellerin and is likely to get some valuable game time.
The new man is slowly getting into his stride for his new side. Should be fully set with a few more games under his belt.
Quite literally no one expected to see Elneny in an Arsenal shirt again but we did. Should be a regular feature in the Europa League campaign.
The academy graduate should get his chance in the cup competitions this season.
One of the youngsters who might get his chance to impress. Cannot pass it up.
Will be deputising given the fact that senior attackers might be rested for the fixture.
The forward will be one of the few senior players leading the line. Needs to lead by example and get back into some form.
