Additionally, for several seasons, Windsor moderated Formula One’s post-qualifying and post-race press conferences.
In 2009, during the British Grand Prix, Peter Windsor passed the interviewer’s microphone to James Allen due to concerns about a possible conflict of interest arising from his role as a future team boss. However, he resumed his interviewing duties at the 2009 Italian Grand Prix.
During that year, reports emerged that Windsor, along with engineer/designer Ken Anderson, was set to lead an American entry into the 2010 Formula One season known as the US F1 Team. Their application received formal acceptance from the FIA on June 12, 2009.
Windsor’s responsibilities within the US F1 Team encompassed team management and the critical tasks of driver development and selection. Unfortunately, in March 2010, US F1 abruptly terminated its operations when it became evident that the project had been essentially non-existent.
