Philip Rivers Career
Rivers was drafted by the New York Giants in the 2004 NFL Drafts, however his rights were taken over by the then called San Diego Chargers (Now LA Chargers). He spent the first two seasons as a backup quarterback for the Chargers. The first year saw him play in only two games with very little contribution.
In the 2006 season he was finally named as the team’s starting quarterback. His performances for the team were really impressive and earned him a new contract worth $92 million with $38 million guaranteed in 2009. He went on to stay with the Chargers until the 2019 season after which he left for the Colts.
With the Chargers he holds the records of most passes completed, most pass attempts, most games played, most game wins along with several others. The 2015 season was the most memorable one for him when he recorded 300+ passing yards in four consecutive games.
Rivers joined the Indianapolis Colts for his final season of his playing career in 2020. His first game came against the Jacksonville Jaguars where he passed 371 yards and scored three touchdowns. He ended his final year with 4,169 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Surprisingly enough, Rivers had a career which lasted 17 seasons without even a single Super Bowl appearance. He was rather uneffective in the post season games.

Rivers was born in Decatur, Alabama, US on December 8th, 1981. He was born to Steve Rivers who was the head coach of Decatur High School’s football team. His mother Joan Rivers was a teacher.
He married his high-school love Tiffany in 2001. The couple have nine children together which includes seven daughters ( Halle, Caroline, Grace, Sarah, Rebecca, Clare and Anna) along with two sons (Gunner and Peter).
