That was McGregor’s first match back in the Octagon after losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Irishman defeated Cerrone in 40 seconds and used his shoulder strikes to great effect.

It will be interesting to see when the Irishman returns for his next fight, but there will be something big on the cards.

Khabib or Ferguson

Dana White has confirmed that McGregor will fight later in the year. His next fight will be up against the winner of the Khabib vs Tony Ferguson clash.

The pair are set to meet for the Lightweight title at UFC 249. Both stars have shared updates of their preparations, and it should be an incredible fight on 19 April.

Khabib is unbeaten in his MMA career while Ferguson has only lost three fights so far. McGregor going up against any of them would be a huge match, but taking on the Russian could be the biggest UFC fight ever.

McGregor was convincingly beaten by Khabib in their previous meeting, and he would be looking for revenge, should they meet.
