Pink Window Nets: How the Window of Hope Started
A young fan wrote to Kurt Busch suggesting he use a pink window net to honor people fighting breast cancer. Busch brought the idea to his fellow drivers and the NASCAR Foundation embraced it. The program launched officially with drivers racing pink nets at the Charlotte ROVAL race during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Thermal Control Products manufactures and donates all the pink window nets used during these races. After each race, drivers sign their pink nets which get auctioned off to raise money for breast cancer organizations.

All About the Funding Project PINK Receives
Proceeds from the Window of Hope program fund the Levine Cancer Institute‘s Project PINK, which was established to increase access to life saving mammography screenings for uninsured women. The money helps pay for “Free Mammography Days” in local areas where women who cannot afford screening get tested for early detection.
Early detection through mammography screening remains one of the most effective ways to catch breast cancer before it becomes deadly. Many uninsured women skip these critical screenings due to cost, making programs like Project PINK essential for saving lives.
NASCAR Drivers’ Perspective on Pink Window Nets
Drivers consistently praise NASCAR’s commitment to supporting important causes beyond racing. The pink window nets serve as visible reminders during broadcasts that the sport cares about issues affecting millions of families. Many drivers have personal connections to breast cancer through family members or friends, making the program especially meaningful to the garage.
