Predicted Manchester United XI to face Cardiff City in the Premier League
Manchester United crumbled to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League last week. The humbling at the hands of Liverpool marked the end of Jose Mourinho’s unimpressive season as the manager of the Red Devils.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been appointed as the interim manager till the end of the season and the Manchester United legend will be in charge when the Red Devils play Cardiff City on Saturday.
United are 6th in the standings, 19 points behind leaders Liverpool and 11 shy of 4th-place Chelsea. Solskjaer has a massive rebuilding job to do if United are to secure a top-four finish this season.
Team News
Luke Shaw will be pushing for a return from his muscular injury while Scott McTominay and Chris Smalling are doubtful to feature at the weekend against Cardiff. Alexis Sanchez has already been ruled out for the season with a thigh injury.
Manager: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Formation: 4-3-3
Predicted XI
1. David De Gea (GK)
The Spaniard has been a reliable presence between the sticks and has saved the demise of his team on numerous occasions throughout the season.
2. Diogo Dalot (RB)
The youngster has impressed in recent weeks and the new manager should hand him a start ahead of Valencia and Darmian.
3. Eric Bailly (CB)
The Ivorian has been inconsistent but the injury to Smalling might allow him to get an extended run in the first-team.
4. Victor Lindelof (CB)
He has shown significant improvement over the last couple of months and Solskjaer should rely on him.
5. Ashley Young (LB)
The veteran should continue at the left-back position if Luke Shaw doesn’t make it to the eleven on Saturday.
6. Nemanja Matic (CDM)
He has looked a bit off the pace this season but has done a fair job as a shield for the porous rearguard.
7. Paul Pogba (RCM)
The arrival of Solskjaer might see the Frenchman restored to the starting eleven.
8. Ander Herrera (LCM)
The Spaniard played the last game against Liverpool and might get a start this weekend against Cardiff City.
9. Jesse Lingard (RW)
The Englishman scored a goal and looked by far the liveliest of United’s attackers against Liverpool.

10. Marcus Rashford (LW)
The youngster has shown plenty of promise this season and has chipped in with valuable goals and assists.
11. Romelu Lukaku (ST)
The Belgian struggled to get into the game last week and had very few touches of the ball but Solskjaer should rely on him as United do not have an alternative.
