Pokemon BDSP Trade Evolutions — Where to find trade Items?

Published by

Here is our list of all the different Trade Evolutions in Pokemon BDSP. Find how to get a specific trade item.

Evolution is at the heart of the Pokémon franchise, and trainers in Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl must utilize a variety of means to fill their PokéDex, including trade. It’s no surprise that certain Pokémon species will only evolve into their final forms when traded among trainers, given that trading has been a hallmark of Pokémon from its beginning. With certain species of Pokémon being version-exclusive, completing most PokéDexs necessitates trade in some fashion, and it’s certainly one of the simplest ways to catch ’em all.

The National PokéDex in Pokemon BDSP has 493 Pokémon, 13 of which can only be evolved through trading, including 6 Sinnoh Dex Pokémon that players can acquire and trade before obtaining the National Dex. Furthermore, some Pokémon require a specific held item to evolve in a trade, so trainers should be sure to provide these items to their Pokémon before engaging in a trade with another player. However, some of these items are especially difficult to come by, and many of them aren’t even available until the end of the game.

Gaining access to trading in Pokemon BDSP

You won’t be able to get any trade evolution Pokemon if you don’t have access to trading. Fortunately, trade is only possible after you’ve defeated Roark at the Oreburgh City Gym. Bring a powerful Water or Grass-type Pokemon to counter Roark’s Rock-type Pokemon, such as Geodude, Onix, or Cranidos. Normal and Rock-type attacks are used by all three Pokemon. Once you’ve defeated Roark, you’ll be able to trade with other players inside Pokemon Centers.

How to Trade in Pokemon BDSP

The simplest method to find a trustworthy trading partner is to look for players who want to evolve the same Pokemon you’re looking to trade on sites like Reddit or Discord; then, you can trade the same Pokemon with each other. Even if they refuse to trade back your original Pokemon, you’ll still receive the Pokemon you need. Before agreeing to the deal, double-check that their Pokemon is holding the correct item.

You can enter a Pokemon Center and take the escalator down once you’ve found a willing trade partner. To enter the trade room, speak with the Nurse in the middle of the counter. You must utilize the escalator that moves upstairs when entering a Pokemon Center if you’re trading with a local player. When you interact with the player, you can trade any Pokemon you choose. Once the trade is confirmed, the Pokemon will evolve. Then, if you want your original Pokemon, trade back.
