The Pokemon Go Wish Granted Masterwork Research quest is now available. It is offering Shiny Jirachi among other great rewards. During the Pokemon Go Tour Hoenn event in February, there will be plenty to enjoy, including the long-awaited debut of Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. However, Shiny Jirachi will be the most exciting addition for Shiny collectors.
While the Mythical Jirachi debuted in Pokemon Go back in 2019, you can only obtain a Shiny Jirachi by purchasing an in-game ticket for the Wish Granted Masterwork Research during Pokemon Go Tour Hoenn and completing all of the tasks. We’ve rounded up all the tasks and rewards we know about Pokemon GO Masterwork Research quests below. This is just in case you’re wondering whether it’s worth your time. It usually takes months to complete compared to Timed Research and Special Research quests.
Pokemon GO Masterwork Research Tasks and Rewards
If the player obtains Masterwork Research: Wish Granted at a different time and location, they will see two different tracks. On Feb. 18 and 19, Pokemon Go Fest: Hoenn – Las Vegas ticket holders will have access to a special, shorter version of the Pokemon GO Masterwork Research. As a result, they will have an easier time collecting all of the rewards and getting that coveted Shiny Jirachi as well as the first dibs on the encounter.
Wish Granted Masterwork Research Tasks
- Catch 385 Pokemon from the Kanto Region and get 385 XP
- Catch 385 Pokemon from the Johto Region and get 385 XP
- Catch 385 Pokemon from the Hoenn Region and get 385 XP
- Get a Gold Hoenn Medal and get 10 Ultra Balls
Total Reward: 10 Kyogre Candy, 10 Groudon Candy, and 10 Rayquaza Candy
Wish Granted Masterwork Research Tasks
- Have 10 Best Buddies and get One Poffin
- Earn a Heart with your Buddy 14 days in a row and get One Poffin
Total Reward: 3,850 XP and three Rare Candies

The Pokemon GO Masterwork Research will be available as a ticketed piece of research in the in-game shop beginning on February 20 and running until March 20 for those who were unable to attend Go Fest: Hoenn – Las Vegas. After purchase, players can complete this research whenever they want with no time limit.
A ticket to access this research costs $4.99 and is the standard version. As a result, it is likely to take a lot longer to complete than the Masterwork Research: Wish Granted variant is given to ticket holders at Go Tour: Hoenn – Las Vegas.
The $5 reward is probably worth picking up if you like what you see, or if you want to get a Shiny Jirachi. However, the Pokemon Go community is getting really tired of ticketed research overall, and some might skip it out of principle.
