Mountains of Power is a Pokemon GO event that continues the story that began with the Season of Heritage and adds a new set of Timed Research objectives. These tasks will be available until Thursday, January 13 at 8 p.m. local time, and players who complete them will receive a range of incentives. This article contains a complete list of Pokemon GO’s Mountains of Power Timed Research missions and rewards for those interested in learning more.
Mountains of Power is an event that centers on Pokémon that can be found in caves and gloomy areas, and it introduced Shiny Slugma and Mega Aerodactyl to the game. The spawns for Mountains of Power are listed here, as well as details on the event-exclusive Field Research and Timed Research Tasks.
Pokemon Go Mountains of Power Event Schedule
The Mountains of Power event will span one week, commencing at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022, and concluding at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Unlike the Season of Heritage XP Challenge, which takes place this month, this event does not require the purchase of an additional item, such as a Tour: Johto ticket. Mountains of Power is open to all Pokemon GO players and is completely free.

Pokemon Go Mountains of Power Timed Research tasks
The following are the Timed Research tasks and rewards that are only available during the Mountains of Power event:
Part 1
- Catch 5 Pokemon – Slugma encounter
- Earn 2 Candies walking with your Buddy – Ferroseed encounter
- Hatch an Egg – Alolan Geodude encounter
Part 2
- Catch 6 different species of Pokemon – Chimecho encounter
- Earn 2 Candies walking with your Buddy – Onix encounter
- Hatch 2 Eggs – Beldum encounter
Rewards: Mawile encounter, 2000 Satdust, 10 Ultra Balls

The following are the Field Research tasks and rewards that are only available during the Mountains of Power event:
- Walk 1km – Slugma encounter
- Earn 2 Candies walking with your Buddy – Mawile encounter
- Hatch an Egg – Alolan Geodude encounter
