Nintendo has revealed the Hisui forms of Zorua and Zoroark in Pokemon Legends Arceus in the form of spooky restored footage. Here is everything that we know so far.
Professor Oak was able to recover some grainy and unreliable “found footage” showcasing a researcher investigating a snowy environment in the Hisui region to full HD, revealing new Pokémon being added to Pokemon Legends Arceus – Zorua and Zoroark from the Hisui region. The newly released found footage clip has been “restored,” giving gamers a better view of a snowy landscape in Sinnoh’s Hisui region.
An anonymous adventurer explores the freezing surroundings before discovering a band of Snorunts playing in the ice, all while filming everything with what appears to be a video camera. They continue exploring and come across a clearing with a single white-and-pink Pokémon standing in the twilight. A giant shadow threatens the filmmaker as he speculates on what it could be. The explorer’s fate is unclear, but the camera captures clear images of a Zorua and a Zoroark, both with modified designs, retreating into the forest.
The typically Unovan native Pokemon’s new forms include Normal and Ghost types, changed from the regular Dark-type. It’s unclear whether Hisui Zoroark will follow suit, but considering its white coat and evolution path, it’s very plausible. This is also the first time these typings have been combined in the series’ history, leaving the species vulnerable only to Dark-type attacks. These monsters first appeared as straight Dark-type Pokemon in Pokémon Black and White. The first Generation V Pokémon to be revealed to the public were Zorua and Zoroark.
There are more Hisui varieties exclusive to Pokémon Legends: Arceus than these. Several popular Pokémon, such as Hisuian Growlithe and Braviary, have been announced to receive new region forms in previous trailers. The game will also have new evolutions for classic Pokémon, like Stantler’s new Hisuian evolution, Wydeer, and Basculin’s ability to evolve into Basculegion. Kleavor, a new stage for Scyther, is perhaps the most terrifying new creature.
According to reports, the game may even have a regional version of Mewtwo. I’m looking forward to seeing how they’ll implement it into the game. Mewtwo was a man-made project produced by Team Rocket, according to the storyline from the first generation games.
Pokemon Legends Arceus is set to be released on 22 January 2022. I am sure we will get more details about the game and the new pokemon as we near the release date of the game. It will be available for the Nintendo Switch.
