In the Pokémon Unite MOBA, Hoopa is one of the many characters available to play. Hoopa is a ranged supporter who excels at moving quickly over the battlefield and making massive macro plays.

The power to build warp points for whole teams is unlike anything Unite has ever seen, and intercepting them requires a great deal of planning. Although Hoopa’s endurance makes it easy to destroy, that doesn’t matter if you can’t see where it’s warping on the map. Every new playable character enhances the Pokemon Unite experience in some way, but Hoopa has raised the bar.

Pokemon Unite Hoopa Abilities

Passive Skill: Magician

This ability produces a hole under one of the Berries on the other team’s side, chosen at random, and warps it right in front of Hoopa in battles when the map is divided into an allied team and an opponent team side. If the opposing team’s side has no berries but has Aeos Energy on the ground, some energy gets warped in front of Hoopa instead.

Ability 1: Confusion

Has the player directed a telekinetic force in a certain direction, causing damage to the first opposing Pokémon it encounters. The Pokémon is clinging to the telekinetic power, which creates a delayed explosion. The explosion inflicts damage to opposing Pokémon in the area of effect and slows their movement for a brief period of time.

Ability 1: Hyperspace Hole

Hoopa creates a portal on the surface that deals area-of-effect damage to enemies. Hoopa and any ally Pokemon in the portal will teleport back to the team’s base after a short period, with the option to warp back to the portal’s location if desired. The other portal will open in the opposite lane’s team goal closest to the center if Hoopa uses its team’s goal closest to the center as the portal location. Cool down for ten seconds. When an ally is walking toward the ring at Lvl. 11, the rings boost their movement speed.

Ability 1: Trick

Hoopa forms a link with one of its allies, which boosts both Pokémon’s movement speed and provides them with a shield. Any basic attack or Shadow Ball cast by Hoopa is also launched by the ally’s ring. If Hoopa uses this attack on itself, its movement speed is boosted and it acquires a shield. A 7.5-second cooldown is in effect. When an opponent is damaged at Lvl. 11, the move additionally boosts the HP of the linked ally.

Ability 2: Astonish

The ability deals damage to opposing Pokémon in the area of effect, rendering them immobilized for a brief period of time.

Ability 2: Phantom Force

Hoopa warps to a specific target, inflicting damage on all nearby enemy Pokemon and pushing them backward. Hoopa then fires two flames at all opponents it touches, inflicting damage and slowing them down. After the first use, Phantom Force can be used a second time within a defined period, and activating it a second time would warp Hoopa back to where it was first used.

Ability 2: Shadow Ball

Hoopa fires a blob-like projectile in front of itself that deals damage and reduces movement speed and Special Defense. If Hoopa hits the enemy with a basic attack following a successful Shadow Ball, the damage is increased and the target is stunned. The cooling time is 4.5 seconds. The blob will explode at Lvl. 13, and any Pokémon caught in the blast will be affected as if they were hit by the blob itself.

Hoopa Unite Move: Rings Unbound

For a short period(15 seconds), the ability transforms the user into Hoopa Unbound, raising the player’s maximum HP and creating a ring at the specified spot. Each ally Pokémon can only warp once to the ring’s location. The player cannot score goals or use its other abilities as Hoopa Unbound.

  • Hyperspace Fury – Hoopa Unbound attacks multiple times facing a designated location, dealing damage and stunning all enemies affected.
  • Psybeam – Hoopa Unbound fires a ray of psychic energy in a horizontal sweep motion, damaging every enemy it hits. Hoopa Unbound is immune to hindrances during this attack.

Muscle Band

  • Atk +1 (+15)
  • Basic Atk Speed +0% (+7.5%)
  • When basic attacks hit, the damage is increased by 1% of the opposing Pokemon’s remaining HP.

Focus Band

  • Def +2 (+30)
  • Sp. Def 0 (+30)
  • When the Pokemon drops to low HP, then each second for three seconds, it recovers 8% of the HP it had lost.

Energy Amplifier

  • Unite Move Charge Rate +0.4% (+6%)
  • Move Cooldown -0.3% (-4.5%)
  • After the Pokemon uses its Unite Move, the damage the Pokemon deals is increased by 7% for a short time.

Eject Button

Quickly moves your Pokemon in the designated location. (Cooldown: 70s)

X Attack

Increases the Pokemon’s Attack, Sp. Atk, and basic attack speeed for a short time. (Cooldown: 40s)

Mastery of Hoopa’s teleport-based abilities – Hyperspace Hole and Rings Unbound, is essential for success. It’s best played in the bottom lane, where all you want to do is annoy the enemy as much as possible to get the bonus on every third auto-attack.
