Amidst the ItsSliker gambling controversy, Pokimane and Corinna Kopf got into an online spat earlier today. The argument was a result of the latter accusing the RTS owner of promoting gambling streams.
Gambling streams have created quite the stir on Twitch lately, especially since ItsSliker came out with his confession. The incident roped in a lot of streamers, as many of them demanded that Twitch ban gambling from the platform. While Twitch has complied with this demand to some extent, the Sliker controversy has given rise to several other issues in the Twitch community.
The most recent controversy rising from this announcement was between Corinna Kopf and Pokimane. The former seemingly accused Pokimane of promoting gambling on her channel when she pulled up an old clip of the streamer. However, the OTV streamer shprtly responded to the accusation and did not hold back her words at all.
The Pokimane Corinna Kopf controversy took an ugly turn
The Pokimane and Corinna Kopf controversy arose in light of Twitch banning some forms of gambling content on the platform. Kopf tweeted a screenshot from an old Pokimane clip where she seemingly had a gambling site open on her computer screen.
However, Pokimane was quick to react to the tweet. She came across the tweet on her livestream and did not mince her words while sharing her reaction to the same.
“Thank you for the amazing suggestion, Corinna. Now that you’ve lost your job promoting illegal crypto gambling websites, would you like to join my YouTube editing team? Is that what you’re asking here?
The streamer alleged that Kopf was involved with gambling websites. Furthermore, speaking about the screenshot, Pokimane explained that she had opened up a link where her friend was doing gambling streams. She even explained how she had been shocked by her friend partaking in gambling streams as well.
However, Kopf shortly responded to this with yet another jab, stating that she would not say much since Pokimane would get her banned on Twitch. This was an obvious jab at the Pokimane-JiDion controversy that took place in January 2022, where the latter was handed a permaban.
It is worth noting that since the controversy, Pokimane and JiDion have set aside their differences and are on good terms. However, Twitch has still not revoked JiDion’s ban.
Although Pokimane has not responded to Kopf yet, fans anticipate that this might add to the huge pile of streamer controversies on Twitch right now.
Pokimane has always been an active advocate against gambling streams
Gambling streams have often been a topic of huge debate on Twitch, and Pokimane is one of the strongest voices against the idea. She has actively raised her concerns about gambling streams on Twitch time and again, claiming that it could adversely influence young minds on the platform.
When the ItsSliker controversy came to light, Pokimane was one of the first streamers to bring up the idea of banning gambling streams on Twitch. Subsequently, after Twitch made its announcement, she rejoiced about the ban of gambling streams.
Naturally, Kopf accusing her of promoting something she so actively advocates against may have rubbed Pokimane off the wrong way.
