Predicted Chelsea XI to face Tottenham in the Premier League

Chelsea welcome Tottenham this weekend for a London derby in the Premier League. The Blues have been in sublime form with six wins on the trot, with their last win coming against Rennes in the Champions League.

Spurs have also been gathering some steam ahead of this fixture, with four wins from their last four, which includes an impressive win over Manchester City. Jose Mourinho will go up against his protege and former club, and fireworks can be expected. With both teams holding top positions, three points will be of utmost importance.

Team News

Chelsea can say that they have a clean bill of health, with just Christian Pulisic said to be a minor doubt. But we might just get to see him in some capacity. Few players such as Reece James are likely to be brought back into the starting XI.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Edouard Mendy (GK)

The custodian has been a very reliable presence with the gloves and looks all set to continue in goal for the time being.

Reece James (RB)

Should get a start for this one after just making an appearance in the dying minutes of the last game.

Thiago Silva (CB)

Will be a vital presence for this important clash and can be expected to keep his place.

Kurt Zouma (CB)

He might be the first choice for a while now. Looked very assured and calm in the last few games.

Ben Chilwell (LB)

Ben Chilwell is the undisputed starter at left-back now with Emerson and Alonso highly unlikely to make their way into the team.

N’Golo Kante (DM)

Kante has become one of the most important players for Chelsea again and it is good to see him back at his best. Should return for this important clash in place of Kovacic.

Jorginho (DM)

Lampard’s most trusted soldier, Jorginho will be looking to get back into some form.

Mason Mount (CAM)

Mount has been immense this season with his selfless contributions despite facing the ire of fans.

Hakim Ziyech (RW)

The new man has been a treat to watch every time he has had the ball. Silky touches and a wand of a left foot. A start should be afforded to him for this one.

Timo Werner (ST)

Should slot back into his centre-forward role after playing the last one out wide.

Kai Havertz (LW)

A rather risky choice given that he hasn’t been at his best for a while. Nonetheless, it could be the perfect game for him to showcase his talents.
