Predicted Everton XI to face Tottenham in the Premier League
Everton reserved their place in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup with a 2-0 victory over Watford, thanks to goals from Mason Holgate and Richarlison.
The Toffees squandered a goal advantage to lose 3-2 away at Brighton in the Premier League last week and they will be looking to get their season back on track when they make the trip to north London to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Tottenham went down 2-1 to Liverpool in their previous encounter but they will be the favourites heading into the home clash against the Toffees, who have registered only a single victory in their last six league outings.
With both the teams looking to get back to their best after a poor start to the season, Sunday’s clash at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium seems to have all the makings of a thrilling end-to-end encounter.
Team News
Yerry Mina is doubtful to feature after picking up a knee injury in the EFL Cup victory over Watford while Bernand (knee) is also ruled out. Jean-Philippe Gbamin continues to be a long-term absentee for the Toffees with a thigh injury.
Predicted XI
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Jordan Pickford (GK)
The England international didn’t have too much to do in the victory over Watford and he has always been the undisputed No.1 for the Toffees in the Premier League.
Djibril Sidibe (RB)
The Frenchman showed signs of promise against Brighton last week and he is expected to return to the eleven in place of Seamus Coleman, who struggled to cope with Watford’s attackers on Tuesday.
Michael Keane (CB)
The injury to Mina forced him to enter the field of play on Tuesday and he is likely to have his work cut out at the heart of the defence against Harry Kane on Sunday.
Mason Holgate (CB)
The youngster will be high on confidence after scoring his first goal for the club against Watford and the injury to Mina should open the door for him to get a start this weekend.
Lucas Digne (LB)
The Frenchman hasn’t hit top gear this season but Everton will be hoping for him to come good in what looks like a difficult away fixture on Sunday.
Andre Gomes (CM)
The former Barcelona man struggled to pull the strings from a deep role in the midfield on Tuesday and was a bit sloppy with his passing but he is likely to start against Spurs.
Fabian Delph (CM)
Tom Davies has started the last couple of Premier League fixtures but Silva might be tempted to rely on the experience and composure of Delph for the high-octane clash.
Gylfi Sigurdsson (CAM)
Silva’s gamble to drop the Icelandic playmaker hasn’t paid off in the last three games and he could return to the eleven for the big game on Sunday.
Alex Iwobi (LW)
The former Arsenal man has proven himself to be an influential addition to the Toffees’ ranks this season and he could shift to the left of the attack to replace Bernard and accommodate Sigurdsson.

Theo Walcott (RW)
An old enemy of Spurs, the veteran will be itching to start on Sunday after laying on a delicious assist in the EFL Cup victory.
Richarlison (ST)
The Brazilian scored against Watford on Tuesday and Everton will need him to fire on all cylinders once again this time around if they are to come away with a positive result against Spurs.
