Predicted Manchester United XI to face Brighton in the Premier League

Manchester United will be hoping to open their account in the league when they visit the Amex stadium to play Brighton this weekend. They started off their league campaign in the worst fashion as they were completely bested by Crystal Palace.

Brighton, on the other hand, are coming on the back of a resounding victory over Newcastle. All the pressure seems to be on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Brighton aren’t the easiest of opponents.

Team News

The only two confirmed absentees for the game are Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones, who remain out due to injury. A lot of players are expected to return to the fold after getting some game time in the mid-week clash against Luton.

Solskjaer will have a host of players to choose from as the squad is largely fit and rested following rotation against Luton.

Probable Man Utd XI

Formation: 4-3-3

David De Gea (GK)

Pressure is mounting on De Gea as he struggled to get things right in the game versus Crystal Palace. Add to that Dean Henderson’s solid showing against Luton and you know that De Gea is on thin ice.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB)

Wan-Bissaka is likely to make his first league start after Fosu-Mensah failed to impress last weekend.

Eric Bailly (CB)

A horror showing from Lindelof against Palace means that talk about a new defender has been doing the rounds. Eric Bailly impressed in the mid-week game and might be given the nod ahead of the Swede.

Harry Maguire (CB)

Captain Maguire keeps his place in the team much like last season. He has been a constant in every game for the Red Devils.

Luke Shaw (LB)

Shaw was rested in the mid-week but will be expected to take over from Brandon Williams for this game.

Nemanja Matic (DM)

Matic featured in the Luton game and most likely will be starting ahead of Scott McTominay.

Paul Pogba (CM)

The Frenchman looked sloppy against Palace as he lost the ball on quite a few occasions and needlessly held up possession. With Van De Beek slowly looking to pick up pace, Pogba needs to get his act straight.

Bruno Fernades (AM)

It was an uncharacteristically poor performance from United’s main creative force. Yes, it was his first competitive game in over a month but the team will need him back at his best. If Bruno plays well, United play well.

Mason Greenwood (RW)

There are no doubts as to who should start on the right wing. Daniel James looked so ineffective that he was hauled off at half-time. Greenwood netted his first goal of the season against Luton and looks like a sure starter this weekend.

Anthony Martial (ST)

Martial will also be back after the mid-week rest after Odion Ighalo featured. Martial needs to find his scoring boots from last season as United need him to start firing.

Marcus Rashford (LW)

His cameo off the bench would have given him a lot of confidence. Now that he has his first goal of the season, it might not be long before we see Rashford at his best again.
