Predicted Manchester United XI to face Burnley in the Premier League
Manchester United return to Premier League action against Burnley as they look to capture top spot. This fixture was originally supposed to be played on gameweek 1 but was postponed. The Red Devils have been in sublime form with only one loss in the EFL Cup in their last 5 games.
Burnley are also in similar form with 3 wins from their last 5 games. They managed to edge out MK Dons in their last game in the FA Cup. An away game does give Manchester United an advantage but Burnley are known to be stubborn customers.
Manchester United Team News
Quite a few changes could be seen for this game as more of the regular players such as Bruno Fernandes returning. There do remain a few doubtful names such as Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw but there is a chance they could start.
Eric Bailly might not be fit in time for the clash after suffering a neck injury in the last game. Facundo Pellistri is also out with COVID but there will be some good news as Edinson Cavani returns from his 3-game suspension.
Probable Manchester United XI vs Burnley
Formation: 4-2-3-1
David de Gea (GK)
The big Spaniard should take over from the youngster as he continues his good run in goal.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB)
Rested for the last game, should return to his spot for this one.
Axel Tuanzebe (CB)
With Eric Bailly pretty much ruled out and Lindelof a doubt, the youngster can continue his participation.
Harry Maguire (CB)
Had to come on for Bailly in the last game but after some much-needed rest, should be raring to go again.
Alex Telles (LB)
Much like Tuanzebe, Telles could also retain his place as Shaw is doubtful for the game.
Scott McTominay (DM)
Captain for the last game and put in a showing worthy of the arm band. The youngster is growing by leaps and bounds with each game.
Fred (DM)
Likely to return to the XI after some much deserved rest.
Bruno Fernandes (AM)
The team is a bleak shadow of themselves without the talismanic playmaker. Will be raring to go after getting a day off.
Paul Pogba (LM)
Pogba may not be hitting those numbers in terms of goals but rest assured his presence in midfield is vital for United.
Marcus Rashford (RM)
The usually prolific Rashford has blown a bit hot and cold this season. Will be looking to grab some goals here.
Anthony Martial (ST)
While it might have been tempting to throw on Cavani after his return, Martial will likely be preferred for the striker role.
