Predicted Manchester United XI to face Liverpool in the FA Cup
Manchester United gear up for another clash with eternal rivals Liverpool for the second time in 7 days, this time in the FA Cup. The Red Devils have been in superb form in the last couple of games, winning 3 of their last 5 games. They dispatched Watford in the last round of the FA Cup.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are getting battered left and right. Jurgen Klopp’s men have won only one of their last five, which was against Aston Villa in the FA Cup. Both sides settled for a draw last week in the Premier League but a winner has to emerge from this one.
Manchester United Team News
Manchester United have a clean bill of health going into this game. The only few names to miss out are Brandon Williams, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo. Facundo Pellistri remains out with COVID.
Victor Lindelof might be a doubtful name for this one as he has struggled with back injuries. A strong lineup could well come out again as Manchester United try to topple their rivals and progress to the next round.
Probable Manchester United XI vs Liverpool
Formation: 4-2-3-1
David De Gea (GK)
While Dean Henderson would have been a good shout for the cup game, given the gravity of the game, De Gea should man the posts.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB)
There aren’t a lot of options for Wan-Bissaka to be rested or rotated. Continues his run of games.
Victor Lindelof (CB)
Likely to feature if he is fit for the game. Played the last one against Liverpool.
Harry Maguire (CB)
Captain Maguire has been really solid over the last few games and will be hoping to get another clean sheet.
Luke Shaw (LB)
Shaw has upped his levels this season and it was on full show against Mohamed Salah last week.
Scott McTominay (DM)
Should be back into the fold to give some added protection to the backline.
Fred (CM)
Fred has shown immense commitment through the season and deserves to retain his place.
Paul Pogba (CM)
Paul Pogba is truly back to his best and is showing it week in week out with goals. Will be a vital presence against Liverpool.
Bruno Fernandes (AM)
The mercurial Portuguese star has cut a quiet figure in the last few games. Should be raring to have a go again.
Marcus Rashford (ST)
Rested for most of last game, he likely to start this one.
Edinson Cavani (ST)
The veteran finisher showed his worth in the last game and could be handed another start.
