Premier League Opinion: Top 5 Goals of the Premier League season
The English top-flight is arguably the most exciting league in all of Europe and there’s a reason why fans from all over the world follow what has turned into a world phenomenon known simply as the Premier League. This season though, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have come in and turned the whole deal up a notch.
While both Manchester City and Liverpool have scored some magnificent goals over the course of the campaign to get to the positions they did, there have been some spectacular efforts from individuals elsewhere in the league as well. The number of audacious attempts on goal this season was quite high which made picking five of the best ones even harder.
Teams like Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bournemouth have come up with worldies along the way while the usual suspects of the Premier League – Eden Hazard and Mohamed Salah have made inroad into this prestigious group as well.

5- Vincent Kompany vs Leicester City (H)
Manchester City’s last real test on their march to defending the title was a visit by Jamie Vardy and his Leicester City side.
Although the Foxes made it difficult for Pep’s men, Vincent Kompany stepped up to the plate in the 70th minute to score the only goal of the match. His thumping effort from over 30 yards out was something to sit back and admire.
4- Ruben Neves vs Everton (H)
In a fixture that saw the Toffees take a surprise away lead at the Molineux, Wolves’ Portuguese magician Ruben Neves came up with another wonderous free-kick that walks into this list.
Minutes before half-time, he backed up a stuttering run-up with a powerful effort which gave Jordan Pickford no chance on his near post.
3- Daniel Sturridge vs Chelsea (A)
The former Chelsea man scored what was an absolute wonder goal against his former employers to salvage Liverpool an extremely valuable point on the night.
He picked up the ball with no real pressure but took one touch and struck with real whip and bend. The movement of the ball caught the Chelsea goalkeeper out as it swerved into the top corner of the net.
2- Eden Hazard vs West Ham United (H)
The Belgian wizard was guaranteed a place on this list right from the opening day of the season but it wasn’t until their recent win against West Ham that he scored his best goal.
He picked up the ball with the entire West Ham team in front of him but in the blink of an eye, he beat them all was one-on-one with the keeper, making no mistake.

When Manchester City opened the scoring against Crystal Palace in their league tie, nobody expected anything other than a home win but the equaliser was backed up by a pure gem of a goal by Andros Townsend.
As the ball bounced around the box, the Englishman unleashed a ferocious volley from a long way with an impeccable technique that gave Ederson no chance and brought a tear to the eye of anyone who witnessed it.
