Predicted Leicester City XI to face Huddersfield Town: Who should start?

Claude Puel’s men slumped to a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth last weekend and the Foxes currently sit 11th in the league table with six points from their first five games.

Leicester made a bright start to the season, despite losing 1-0 to Manchester United on opening day. In fact, they followed it up with victories over Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, things went horribly wrong for the Foxes against Bournemouth, as the Cherries took advantage of some rather shambolic defending.

After back-to-back losses against Liverpool and Bournemouth, the Foxes must get themselves back to winning ways when they host Huddersfield Town this weekend.

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

The Danish international has been impressive in the Premier League and was hardly to blame for the four goals Leicester conceded last weekend. Puel should hand him another start.

Daniel Amartey (RB)

The Ghanaian has done a decent job as a makeshift right-back and he should replace Ricardo Pereira, who had a nightmarish time in the last game.

Jonny Evans (CB)

Wes Morgan received a red card in the 4-2 loss against Bournemouth and the experienced Evans must fill the void at the back.

Harry Maguire (CB)

The English international scored the late winner against Southampton a couple of weeks back but had a poor game against Bournemouth. However, he is one of the best centre-backs in England and should start this weekend.

Ben Chilwell (LB)

Although the youngster did not have the best of games against Bournemouth, he has impressed with his all-around performance so far. He should start against Huddersfield.

Nampalys Mendy (LCM)

The Frenchman has fared well in the heart of the midfield and has been successful at breaking up opposition play with some solid tackles and interceptions. He wasn’t particularly at his best in the last game but Puel should continue to hand him starts.

Wilfred Ndidi (RCM)

The Nigerian international signed a long-term contract with the Foxes in the summer but hasn’t been at the top of his game this season. However, he is a player with huge potential and Puel should show faith in him.

Marcus Albrighton (LM)

Demarai Gray failed to make much of an impact against Bournemouth which could open the door for Albrighton to make a start down the left. He came off the bench and scored a consolation goal last weekend.

Rachid Ghezzal (RM)

The Algerian was impressive against Liverpool and showed signs of promise in the 4-2 loss last weekend. Puel should hand him more starts.

James Maddison (CAM)

The young Englishman has been the Foxes’ standout performer this season and has been a bright spark in the final third. Puel should continue to pick him in the coming days.

Jamie Vardy (ST)

The former England international started off well against Bournemouth but gradually faded away as the game wore on. However, he should start ahead of Kelechi Iheanacho.
