6th seed Dan Evans takes on Finnish No. 1 Emil Ruusuvuori in the round of 32 of the 2023 Qatar Open on Monday.

The British No. 2 did not have a great campaign in the Adelaide International 2 as he lost to Mackenzie McDonald in the round of 32. In the Australian Open, Evans crashed out in the third round.
The 32-year-old entered the Australian Open as the 25th seed. He defeated Facundo Bagnis in the first round and Jeremy Chardy in the second round. Evans’ campaign ended in the third round as he lost to 5th seed Andrey Rublev in the third round.
Emil Ruusuvuori
Like Evans, Ruusuvuori lost in the first round of the Adelaide International 2. In the Australian Open, Ruusuvori lost to Andrey Rublev in the second round. The 23-year-old played in the Montpellier Open where he lost to Maxime Cressy in the second round after getting the better of Mikael Ymer in the first round.
Prior to the Qatar Open, Ruusuvuori played in the ATP Rotterdam Open. He lost to top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets. Ruusuvuori will be hoping to pick up his first win in three matches as he faces an experienced campaigner in Evans.
