2nd seed Felix Auger-Aliassime takes on 7th seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Qatar Open on Thursday.

The world No. 9 came into the tournament after failing to successfully defend his ATP Rotterdam title earlier this month. He was ousted in the quarterfinals by Daniil Medvedev. The Canadian youngster has now managed to reach his second consecutive quarterfinal.
After receiving a first-round bye, Auger-Aliassime began his campaign in Qatar by facing Jason Kubler in the round of 16. The 22-year-old dropped the first set but made a stunning comeback to win the match 4-6, 6-1, 6-4. Auger-Aliassime smashed 15 aces during the encounter and had a win percentage of 80 on the first serve. He also converted 3 out of 6 break points.

The Spaniard also played in the ATP Rotterdam Open but his campaign ended in the first round following a loss against Daniil Medvedev.
In the round of 32 of the Qatar Open, Davidovich Fokina eased past Constant Lestienne in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. The 23-year-old followed it up with another comprehensive performance against Soon-woo Kwon to win the match 6-3, 6-2. Davidovich Fokina had a win percentage of 77 on the first serve and converted 3 out of 5 break points. He himself didn’t get broken in the two sets.
