Predicted Leicester City XI to face Everton in the Premier League

Leicester City were flying high with back-to-back victories over Chelsea and Manchester City but a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Cardiff brought them crashing down to the earth.

The Foxes currently sit 8th in the standings and they will be desperate to start the new year on a good note when they make the trip to Goodison Park to face Everton on Tuesday.

Everton beat Leicester 2-1 away from home earlier in the season and Claude Puel’s men will be aiming to have the final say this time around.

Team News

Daniel Amartey remains a long-term absentee with an ankle injury while Wes Morgan and Jonny Evans are suffering from minor illness and are doubtful to play a part in the mid-week clash.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Claude Puel

Predicted XI

1. Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

The Danish veteran didn’t have too much to do in the last game but it would be harsh to blame him for Camarasa’s injury-time winner.

2. Ricardo Pereira (RB)

The Portuguese international showed good intent in the attacking third in the last game and looked quite solid at the back.

3. Harry Maguire (CB)

He is one of the pillars of Leicester’s backline and will have his work cut out against a potent Everton attack on Tuesday.

4. Caglar Soyuncu (CB)

The Turk looked quite good in the previous game and should continue at the heart of the defence if Morgan and Evans do not make it in time.

5. Ben Chilwell (LB)

The Englishman has been one of the best performers for the Foxes this season and should be amongst the starters.

6. Wilfried Ndidi (CDM)

The Nigerian looked a bit clumsy in possession against Cardiff and Leicester will need him to do better this time around.

7. Nampalys Mendy (CDM)

He was too rash and reckless in the previous outing and will be expected to put in a more disciplined shift on Tuesday.

8. James Maddison (CAM)

The youngster missed a penalty in the last game but was otherwise pretty tidy with his work in the attacking third.

9. Rachid Ghezzal  (RW)

Albrighton looked a bit leggy towards the end of the game against Cardiff and Puel should hand the Algerian a start.

10. Demarai Gray (LW)

The youngster put in a lively performance last week but lacked that clinical edge and will be expected to do better against Everton.

11. Jamie Vardy (ST)

He missed a chance in the last game but Leicester will need their talisman to fire on all cylinders if they are to bag all three points.
