The Hong Kong facility will be the third Rafael Nadal Tennis Center, following similar facilities opened by the Spaniard in Costa Mujeres (Mexico) and on the Halkidiki peninsula in Greece. The decision to open a branch in Hong Kong was fuelled by the desire to increase tourism in the area as well.

The Rafa Nadal Academy (RNA) will have a dedicated coaching team joining HKGTA direct from the RNA in Spain. The team will be running and leading tailormade tennis programs in Asia for the first time since the organization was founded.

All the coaches who will be linking up at the HKGTA are experienced in the RNA methodology, which can be adapted to any player’s age, level, and needs. Along with the RNA, a Rafa Nadal Shop will also be opening at the training centre, enabling players to look, feel and be as confident in their game as possible. The shop will feature exclusive Rafa Nadal merchandise as well.

While speaking about the launch of his first Tennis academy in Asia, Nadal was excited. “We’re very excited about this new international project in Hong Kong. Since the academy opened in Mallorca 5 years ago, we have always been interested in expanding our methodology to other countries in order to reach as many people as possible.” said the Spaniard on his academy website.
