Rajon Rondo began his career in the 2005–06 NCAA season and left early to put his name for the NBA draft. In the 2006 NBA draft, he was drafted 21st overall by the Phoenix Suns.
In the same year, he signed with the Boston Celtics on July 4, 2006. He spent the first nine years of his career with the Celtics. He was a talisman for the Celtics winning his first NBA title in the 2007-08 season. He averaged 10.6 points and 5.1 assists per game, when they beat the LA Lakers in the NBA Finals.
He was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in the 2014-15 season. Since then, he has made constant moves in the NBA. Rondo played for the Sacramento Kings in 2015-16, the Chicago Bulls in 2016-17, the New Orlean Pelicans in 2017-18, the Los Angeles Lakers from 2018-20, Atalanta Hawks in 2020-21 and the Los Angeles Clippers in 2020-21.
Rondo became the first player to win an NBA championship with both the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers, the two most successful teams in the history of the league.
