Red Bull have one of the biggest stars in Max Verstappen and the F1 star underwent a gruelling VO2 max test ahead of the 2020 season.
Verstappen has undergone several tests ahead of the new season and has posted updates on the same.
The VO2 max test is the maximum amount of oxygen consumed by the body during incremental exercise.
This provides a better understanding of respiratory fitness and also endurance as F1 drivers are subjected to a lot of high G-forces during a race.
Verstappen didn’t put up too many words on his caption and only wrote “Testing” and many fans reacted to the strenuous test the Dutchman was going through.
The 22-year-old is one of the best in the business and needs to be in great shape ahead of another tough season.
Red Bull also have a lot of work to do for their new season, and recently confirmed that they will launch their car on 12 February 2020.
The 22-year-old finished third in the driver’s championship and also won a career-best three races last season.
He would be looking to improve that and recently signed a new deal with Red Bull too. That should allay any fears of the Dutchman looking to move to any other top team.
Red Bull’s engine has been the problem for a few years but Honda made great strides last season.
They are still a little behind when it comes to horsepower when compared to Ferrari and Mercedes, and it will be interesting to see how the season goes.
