Retribution shocks the system – Hits and Misses from WWE Raw 5 Oct 2020

Retribution got a new leader in Mustafa Ali and that was pretty much the best part of Raw

Mustafa Ali was one of the best parts of WWE Raw this week as he teamed up with Retribution. The high-flyer was looked down upon by WWE in recent months but made quite a move which was the talking point from this week’s Raw.

Mustafa Ali is the latest member of Retribution (WWE)

While this was one of the positives, there were a ton of negatives from this week’s show. Raw certainly missed the mark with a lot of spots and here are the hits and misses.

Misses

1) Lana meets table, again

Another week, another loss for Lana and another ride through a table. WWE needs to stop punishing her for what Rusev is doing and now it is for all to see.

Lana was sent through a table by Nia Jax, again (WWE)

This time it seemed that Natalya would go through the table. However, Lana saved her friend and went through it instead.

She also took a knee to lose a tag match and this was her third ride through a table in the last three weeks.

2) The entire Rollins-Murphy saga

Where do we begin in all this? Murphy teamed up with Rollins and won a match. The pair attacked each other afterwards, both used kendo sticks and Aalyah came out to save Murphy while Rollins relented.

Seth Rollins stopped attacking Murphy after Aalyah came out (WWE)

The Mysterio family also came out to support Aalyah and all this was just not clicking. WWE didn’t have to go this way but they did. Sure, Murphy attacking Rollins was something different but WWE seem stuck with this rivalry between Rollins and Mysterio, which is now going to continue for a few more months, at least.

3) Not finding new opponents

Braun Strowman was back to face Keith Lee in an exhibition match which made no sense on Raw. However, WWE seems to have no new faces as everyone faced off against the same opponents.

Asuka took on Zelina Vega in a tag match with Mandy Rose, Natalya, Lana and Dana Brooke.

The Hurt Business continued their feud with Apollo Crews and the rest while Ali took on MVP.

Raw seems to be the B-team of WWE for some reason, and this matchmaking certainly is certainly getting boring, certainly creative has to do something but they seem to be just rehashing matches for fun.

Hits

1) Ali shocks the system

The high-flyer was revealed as the leader of Retribution and that was quite the shock. No one expected this at all as he turned on the Hurt Business and asked his faction to attack them.

Mustafa Ali could lead Retribution into the light (WWE)

Ali is immensely talented and this was quite a spin that no one expected. WWE have messed up the hacker character of Ali in the past but this is something that could work out in the future.

WWE have also messed up with Retribution in the past but they could craft something amazing with this storyline.
