During a TLC match, Rodriguez tried to help Del Rio regain the WWE Championship, Rodriguez even climbed to the top of the ladder in the ring, but CM Punk and The Miz tipped the ladder over such that Rodriguez fell out of the ring and crashed at a table at ringside. This fall was described as dangerous and scary looking.
After Del Rio attacked Rodriguez, he started working for Rob Van Dam. He was forced to wrestle Del Rio as well. Van Dam’s and Ricardo’s alliance ended after the feud with Del Rio.
Rodriguez departed from WWE and debuted for WWC, where he won the WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight Championship. However, he lost the title in a few days and then debuted for Mexican promotion AAA.
In September 2015, Rodriguez was hired as a trainer for The Great Khali’s wrestling school in Punjab, Continental Wrestling Entertainment. In addition, he is now a part of the Spanish commentary for the All Elite Wrestling.
