Ricky Rudd was involved in multiple car accidents. In the 1990 Atlanta Journal 500, Rudd competed for Hendrick Motorsports in his Chevrolet vehicle. During lap 300, Rudd’s car spun into Bill Elliott’s car. Ricky Rudd was driving at a high speed and hit Elliott’s pit. Bill Elliott’s tire changer, Mike Rich, was killed after suffering injuries.
