Riley Herbst is an active competitor in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, where he drives the No. 98 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing on a full-time basis. Additionally, he participates in the NASCAR Cup Series on a part-time basis, handling the No. 15 Ford Mustang for Rick Ware Racing and the No. 36 Ford Mustang for Front Row Motorsports.
Herbst’s journey in motorsports began at the age of five when he started kart racing. Over the years, he made his way through various racing categories, including legends, Speed Trucks, and Super Late Models. In 2016, he expanded his racing experience by taking part in several NASCAR East and West series races, alongside competing in Super Late Model events at Irwindale.
In May 2018, Riley Herbst was selected as a member of the 2018 NASCAR Next class, recognizing his emerging talent in the sport. In June of the same year, Herbst made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Iowa Speedway while driving for JGR (Joe Gibbs Racing). Impressively, Herbst managed to secure a tenth-place finish in his debut, even though he was involved in a multi-car crash towards the end of the race. Notably, he joined an exclusive group of just five drivers in NASCAR history who achieved a Top 10 finish in their inaugural races across the Cup, Xfinity, and Truck Series. Additionally, he participated for Front Row Motorsports at the 2023 Coke Zero Sugar 400 in Daytona, driving the No. 36 Ford. In 2025, Riley Herbst will compete in the NASCAR Cup Series for 23XI Racing. In the 2024 season, he finished 7th and Herbst will look to win the title this year.
