West Brom report: The Baggies draw 2-2 with Nottingham Forest

West Brom were denied the chance to go nine points clear at the top of the table after Nottingham Forest’s Matty Cash scored a stoppage-time equaliser in the 2-2 draw at the Hawthorns in the Championship.

The Baggies took the lead through Sheffield United loanee Callum Robinson’s first goal for the club. Kyle Bartley levelled things up by putting into his own net on the stroke of half-time. Forest’s Tobias Figueiredo then suffered the same fate in the second half as his team-mate Sammy Ameobi lay injured in the build-up.

Nottingham wasted an excellent chance to take the lead when the unmarked Lewis Grabban headed wide from Yuri Ribeiro’s cross.

Hosts West Brom began the second half brightly when Filip Krovinovic forced a good save from Brice Samba with a well-struck 25-yard effort just a minute after the restart. A ferocious volley from Matheus Pereira was blocked by Sammy Ameobi just in front of the line. But after constant pressure, they led 2-1 thanks to a Figueiredo own goal.

West Brom wasted several chances to increase their lead, with Sow excellent between the sticks for Forest. The Congolese shot-stopper kept out efforts from Romaine Sawyers and Robinson. But the game was far from over. Matty Cash fired home a fierce right-foot shot to level the scores in stoppage time.

Slaven Bilic’s Albion were denied a winner with virtually the last kick when Robinson’s volley flew in but Bartley, lying on the ground over the line, was chopped off for offside.

Disappointed after conceding in the stoppage time, here’s how some West Brom fans reacted on Twitter.
