Robbie Lawler first stepped inside the cage on the 7th of April, 2001 at Extreme Challenge 39. He faced John Reed and won by knocking him out in the very first round.

Following the dissolution of Strikeforce, Lawler returned to the UFC and faced John Koscheck at UFC 157. ‘Ruthless’ dispatched Koscheck with a stunning TKO win, before going on to win the next two fights as well.
At UFC 171, Lawler fought for the vacant welterweight belt, but was defeated by Johnny Hendricks.
However, that same year, at UFC 181, Lawler earned a split decision win over Hendricks in the rematch, and won the welterweight title.
He defended it twice, against Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit, before being devastated by Tyron Woodley at UFC 201 in July 2016.
Since his title loss to Woodley, Lawler has managed to win just once. He has lost four since then.
After being knocked out by Nick Diaz in 2004, Robbie Lawler exacted revenge over the west coast gangster with a knockout win in the third round, at UFC 266.
