Roger Federer vs Lorenzo Sonego is a fourth round match at Wimbledon 2021 and here is the preview, live stream details, weather forecast and more
Roger Federer reaches 69th Grand Slam fourth round at Wimbledon and moves to the second week of the Wimbledon Championships 2021 after beating Brit Cameron Norrie.
Federer won 6-4, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 in an impressive performance despite dropping the third set. The Brit fought back after breaking back in the third set and then broke again in the 11th game to turn the game on its head.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion kept his cool and used his experience to break crucially to win the fourth set and the match. He now moves to the Round of 16 to face Italian Lorenzo Sonego.
He joked about his English after failing to understand a question in the previous round, saying:
“I think overall I’m definitely playing at a high level right now. I got lucky in that first round. My English is better, things are really going very well for me.”
Sonego, meanwhile, defeated Australian James Duckworth 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 in his third-round match on Saturday.

Their second ever meeting comes again two years later, but the Italian has worked his way into the Top 30 in the world, ranked at 27.

Roger Federer vs Lorenzo Sonego prediction
Federer has gone from strength to strength in the early rounds of the tournament. He will be looking to keep his impressive run going as he has in R2 and R3. He was been inconsistent during a few games, but relies heavily on his serve to get him out tough situations. In his match against Mannarino, Federer racked up the unforced errors taking the game to 2 sets all.
Sonego will take all his chances against the 39-year old. He has a big first serve and an even bigger forehand, which could pose a threat on the grass. The confidence is also helping the Italian improve his serve percentages in the first three matches.
We could well see this match go well past 3 sets, as Federer will hope to bring his A-game against one of the rising stars of the game.
Prediction: Sonego in 4 sets
