Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have had a huge rivalry over the years
Former British tennis star Greg Rusedski has revealed that Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal were no longer Novak Djokovic‘s “main rivals” anymore. He also feels that the current World No. 1 will win the Nitto ATP Finals.
Talking exclusively to Express, the former British World No.1 said that young blood is the real competition for Djokovic now and the Serb will be favourite to win the Nitto ATP Finals.
“He’s fresh. He’s had two months off since the US Open. Usually coming into the end of the season, he’s a little bit tired, he’s played a lot more tennis. He’s managed his schedule well because he’s 34 years of age.”
“I also think he’s ready to beat this next generation of rivals. His main rivals are not Nadal and Federer anymore because their health isn’t there.”
Novak Djokovic ahead of the pack
Djokovic leads both Roger Federer (27-23) and Rafael Nadal (30-28) in head-to-head records. He is the only player to have wins over Federer and Nadal at all four Grand Slams. He’s also the only one to beat both in multiple Grand Slam finals, multiple Masters finals and in the final of the season-ending Championship.
Nadal and Federer have struggled with injuries off late and that has allowed Djokovic to come level on the Grand Slam wins with the duo. The trio is currently tied at 20 Grand Slam victories.
When it comes to domination on court – Djoker is way ahead of the duo. Serb’s fitness and composure have led him ahead of the pack and without a doubt he has dominated the Swiss and Spanish legend when it comes to comparison between these three.
