Roger Federer vs Cameron Norrie is a third round match at Wimbledon 2021 and here is the preview, live stream details, weather forecast and more
Roger Federer was in dominant form in his second round match against Richard Gasquet winning 7-6 (7-1) 6-1 6-4. Federer extends his record over the Frenchman to 19-2 and will now face Britain’s Cameron Norrie.
Norrie reached the last 32 for the first time with a 6-3 6-1 6-2 win against Australian wildcard Alex Bolt. He has been in his best form with an impressive record this season. Federer, in his post match interview spoke about Norrie and their upcoming fixture. He said: (h/t BBC)
“I hope the crowd gets into it. I understand if they cheer for him and if it is for me it is because of the last 20 years and all the big wins I’ve had here. Cam is a good guy, he’s had a wonderful year and played great at Queen’s, backing that up here.”
“But enough now – he needs to go out! I need to go through”
Norrie has never reached the third round of Wimbledon before, but has been one of the frontrunners this season. He also faced Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros earlier this year. With Norrie’s win, three British men – Norrie, Andy Murray and Dan Evans – have reached the third round of Wimbledon for the first time since 1999.
Federer, meanwhile, looks rusty and has still a considerable number of unforced errors.
The Swiss has only faced Norrie once in his ATP career. The match was at the 2019 Hopman Cup, where Federer dominated from the start to win 6-1, 6-1.

The likelihood for rain tomorrow is very high at 90%, which means we could see a closed Center Court. The Wimbledon 2021 weather forecast adds that temperature looks to vary from 20 to 22 degree Celsius. Wind is at 18 km/h.
Federer has barely played this season since his comeback in Doha earlier this year. He has only played in Geneva, Paris and Halle this year. His fitness also is a worry as he turns 40 next month. But, Federer has produced the right shots in the first two rounds at the All English Tennis Club.
Norrie is 12th in the ATP race this season, after having the most wins yet in his calendar year. Norrie has played 14 tournaments this year and won two or more matches at 12 of them. His win-loss record of 31-13 is among the top 3 this year.
The match will be very tightly contested with the crowd supporting going both ways throughout the match. It is possible that the lack of match fitness could work against his favour if Norrie plays to his best. With Norris’ form this year and the fact that he’s at his home Slam, we could well see an upset of the ‘King of Grass.’
Prediction: Norrie in 5 sets
