Edge vs Roman Reigns has been teased for WrestleMania but keeping Kevin Owens in this is the right move by WWE
The Rated-R Superstar, Edge, has a huge decision to make regarding who he faces at WWE WrestleMania 37.
Edge won the 2021 Royal Rumble and has his pick of top stars. He could take on Drew McIntyre, the WWE Champion, Roman Reigns, the Universal Champion or Finn Balor, the NXT Champion.
Edge should fight either McIntyre or Reigns, given that they hold the bigger titles but he hasn’t made his decision yet. The Canadian was seen on all three brands recently but one moment stood out more than anything else.
Reigns was attacked by Kevin Owens and it seems the pair will clash for a while. Owens has fought Reigns for the good part of two months but hasn’t been able to take the title away.
However, WWE seems to be persisting with this rivalry for a while. Edge vs Reigns seems to be the obvious choice for WrestleMania, according to Bully Ray too, but it seems WWE is playing the waiting game.
While some fans have questioned why WWE isn’t just starting the feud now, keeping Reigns vs Owens going for a while also makes a lot of sense.
Edge has time on his hands to choose his WrestleMania 37 opponent
WWE don’t need Edge to rush and make a decision now since time is a huge factor in all this. WrestleMania is a couple of months away and there are two PPVs before the grandest show of the year.
Should Edge make his decision now that would ensure his rival is rendered useless till WrestleMania. Had Edge confirmed that he wanted to face Reigns or McIntyre, the selected championship match would not happen till April 10 or 11.
That would put WWE in a bit of a spot. They have the 2021 Elimination Chamber coming up in a few weeks and then also have Fastlane.
It would be a little weird if they didn’t have their top champions, McIntyre and Reigns not performing on the show.
McIntyre is already set to face five other men in an Elimination Chamber match but that doesn’t feature Edge.
Reigns hasn’t been given a match yet, but that could change after Owens attacked him on SmackDown.
Also, Edge keeping his cards close to the chest ensure that he keeps the fans interested too. Recently, Triple H also commented that Edge was keen on working with younger talents on NXT.
Edge vs Balor or Edge vs Adam Cole could be great as well and this is a carrot that WWE will dangle till after Fastlane, possibly.
While the Owens vs Reigns story will drag on a bit, it makes sense to keep Edge from making his decision soon.
The Canadian is one of the greatest ever and whoever he faces will serve as a treat at WrestleMania 37.
He can just wait and watch how things take place in WWE and he could become the ultimate opportunist again as he looks to become champion again.
