Rudy Gobert-Bourgarel a.k.a Rudy Gobert was the Round 1, 27thoverall draft pick by the Denver Nuggets. He was later traded to the Utah Jazz on draft night. Gobert plays in the position of Center and he is a three-time NBA All-Star (2020,2021 and 2022).

Gobert played for the Cholet Basket junior team from 2009 to 2011. Subsequently, in 2010-11, Gobert started playing for the Cholet Senior team. In 2010-11, he averaged 4.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in 29 games for Cholet. Then in the next season, that is, 2012-13, he averaged 8.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game in 27 games.

In 2013, Gobert joined the NBA and was selected by the Denver Nuggets on the NBA Draft night. Gobert was then traded to the Utah Jazz. Then, on July 6, 2013, he signed his rookie scale contract with the Jazz and joined them for the 2013 NBA Summer League.

In his rookie year, Gobert played just 45 games, averaging 2.3 points per game, and 3.4 assists per game.

On October 31, 2016, Gobert signed a four-year, $102 million contract extension with the Utah Jazz. With this contract signing, Gobert at that time became the best-paid French athlete ever. Moreover, at the season’s end, Gobert was named in the All-NBA Second Team for the first time in his career. He also earned NBA All-Defensive First Team honors.

On January 30, 2020, Gobert, for the first time was named as a Western Conference reserve for the 2020 NBA All-Star Game.

Subsequently, On December 20, 2020, Gobert signed a five-year, $205 million contract extension with the Utah Jazz. Gobert’s contract extension was the third-largest contract in NBA history. Notably, it was also the largest contract ever for a Center.

On February 23, 2021, Gobert was once again named as a Western Conference reserve for the 2021 NBA All-Star Game.

Gobert went to the 2021 Playoffs with the Jazz but lost against the Kawhi Leonard-led Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference Semi-finals.
