France Fights Back

The Olympic silver medalists were about to be eliminated when Gobert slammed a putback to force overtime.

Despite having the opportunity to win on their final possession, France was able to finish the task in overtime, winning 87-86.

With 20 points and 17 rebounds, Gobert took the lead and ensured that his country did not lose twice in the competition’s round of 16.

The Quarter-finals

France will compete against either Serbia or Italy in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Slovenia’s Luka Doni led his team to an 88-72 victory over Belgium while playing in superb form once more.

The three-time National Basketball Association (NBA) All-game high scoring Star has set up a possible matchup against Poland or Ukraine with his 35 points.

Dennis Schröder scored 22 points and handed out 8 assists as Germany defeated Montenegro 85-79.
