UFC middleweight prospect Sean Strickland is tired of being forced to wear a mask and wants it to end
Sean Strickland who is well known to speak from the shoulder has expressed his discomfort of being forced to adhere to COVID norms in a recent tweet.
Ahead of his clash with Jack Hermansson this weekend, Sean Strickland had some views about the current mask scenario and also spoke candidly about his opponent in a tweet.
He wrote:
“I’m sick of getting things stuck up my nose and told to put a mask on.. this shit is ridiculous and needs to end.. oh and jack is a savage lol should have a war :).”
Many fighters have communicated their unwillingness to wear a mask given that the world is finally beginning to cope with the pandemic and things are finally taking a positive turn.
He also paid respect to ‘The Joker’ by calling him a savage and it’s clear that he’s expecting a real fight this weekend.
Sean Strickland has found his path to stay relevant in the MMA news circuit and is finally turning into a household name. A win this weekend will ascend him to the top of the middleweight ladder.
MMA on Point in a recent tweet shed light on an interesting fact from Strickland’s career. The American mixed martial artist is 17-0 in the middleweight division and his only 3 losses have come in the welterweight division.
Of the three losses, two have been via. unanimous decision – against Santiago Ponzinibbio and welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
The other loss was a brutal KO loss to a stunning spinning wheel kick from Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos at UFC 224.
This is proof that Strickland has found his home in the middleweight division and walks around healthy and confident. It will be fascinating to see how he fares against elite competition in the middleweight division starting with Jack Hermansson this weekend.
