Sebastian Korda Career
Sebastian Korda started playing tennis at the age of 9. Finally, in 2018, Korda turned into a pro.
Subsequently, in 2018, Korda made his ATP main draw debut at the New York Open. He was a wild card entry at the event and unfortunately, he lost in the first round against Frances Tiafoe in three sets.
In 2020, Korda made his Masters 1000 debut at Western & Southern Open tournament. He then made his Grand Slam debut as a wildcard at the US Open where he was defeated by Denis Shapovalov. As a qualifier, Korda reached the fourth round at the 2020 French Open but then lost to Rafael Nadal.
In 2021, Korda reached his first ATP final at the Delray Beach Open but lost the final to Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets.
Korda also reached his first Masters 1000 quarterfinal at the 2021 Miami Masters. However, he lost the quarterfinals against Andrey Rublev. With his quarterfinal run, Korda reached a then career-high ranking of ATP world No. 62 on April 12, 2021.
Further, in May 2021, Korda lifted his first career ATP Tour singles title at the Emilia-Romagna Open, an ATP 250 tournament. With the title win, Korda reached a new then career-high of No. 50 on May 31, 2021.
In 2021, Korda also made his debut at the Wimbledon Championships. In the tournament, Korda reached the fourth round for the first time in his career. However, he lost in the fourth round to Karen Khachanov. Despite the loss, he reached a new career-high ranking of No. 46 on July 12, 2021.
In 2022, Korda made his 2022 Australian Open debut. Korda managed to reach the third round at the Australian Open.
At the 2022 Monte-Carlo Masters he defeated recent Miami Open champion Carlos Alcaraz for the biggest win of his season to reach the third round.
