Seth Rollins seems to be done and dusted with Murphy by his side
This week’s WWE Raw had some fantastic matches and performances. Dominik Mysterio met Seth Rollins in a steel cage match and that had a couple of major stories coming from it.
Drew McIntyre also faced off against Keith Lee, and there were fears that Randy Orton might miss Clash of Champions.
However, for all the good, there was the bad, and here are the hits and misses from WWE Raw.
Misses
1) More Underground shenanigans
Shane McMahon might have allowed Braun Strowman into Raw Underground but even he couldn’t save this segment.
While Strowman vs Dabba Kato is set up for next week, this wasn’t enough. Raw Underground needs to have some structure and this was another missed chance.
2) More Retribution shenanigans
Retribution spoke, again. The lights flickered, again. Matches were affected, again. They attacked, again.
Nothing new or special came out from Retribution’s appearance on this week’s Raw. Sure, some people predicted who the main five members are, but this just isn’t enough.
Retribution was a great move at the start but WWE have stagnated them a lot.
Hits
1) Dominik shines
Dominik has been one of the bright sparks in WWE ever since he made his debut. The son of Rey Mysterio doesn’t look out of place one bit and went toe to toe with Rollins.
Sure, he fell short of another win but WWE have a real star on their hands. His microphone and promo skills need work but he is great in the ring.
It will be interesting to see what is next for him after the Rollins feud, but keeping him alongside his father is a smart move by WWE.
2) Murphy kicked out
Murphy might have taken a beating from Rollins but this was brilliant story telling. He came out to help Rollins even when he was told not to.
He almost cost Rollins the match but helped him win it in the end. However, The Messiah wasn’t happy one bit about it and hit out at his disciple.
Murphy is an intriguing character and it will be interesting to see what happens next for him. As for Rollins, he is growing into a better and more impressive heel with each week.
3) Ricochet with the sell of the year
Cedric Alexander facing off against his former teammate Ricochet should have been a great match. However, it felt a little rushed and ended early. It was great seeing the pair get some quality time in the ring but Ricochet performed the sell of the year.
He was hit by the Lumbar check by Alexander, and he flipped mid-air after receiving the bump and was out.
Ricochet is one of the most talented performers in WWE, and even in a loss, he looks so great. Hopefully, WWE can get him some great matches in the future.
