James Harden is out owing to his injury but that is not stopping Shake Milton from learning

Philadelphia 76ers star, James Harden is out from his team with an injury for quite some time now. All-Star Harden suffered a tendon strain in his foot in early November and since then he is out of the roster recovering and rehabbing.

It might be a few weeks since Harden has donned his Philly jersey but his impact off the court is still of great significance. At least Sixers Guard, Shake Milton thinks that way.

Harden has been playing for the Sixers since the second half of last NBA season and James’ approach to the game has immensely helped Shake Milton to develop his own game.

Milton is watching and learning everything he is seeing out of the ten-time All-Star Harden lately.

When asked about Harden, Milton answered, “[I learn] just from watching him, honestly,” Further he said, “Anytime you’re able to sit there and watch a great player play basketball, you’re just like a sponge trying to take up any type of information.” (h/t: SI/All 76ers)

On the Friday night game of Philadelphia 76ers vs. Orlando Magic, Milton’s stat line surely looked like the reflection of James Harden.

Against Magic, Milton scored a huge 24 points, but he did something which was even better. Milton showed incredible skills in the playmaking department by whipping out ten assists.

Once Harden was the NBA’s top scorer, but the scene has changed for him in recent years. In the last few seasons, Harden focused greatly on his playmaking ability. Milton seems to have picked this playmaking trait of Harden.

“As much as a threat as he is to score the ball, he’s always making plays for the team,” Milton said while talking about Harden’s playmaking ability. “Getting people on the rolls, seeing the backside defense, and you can definitely take a lot from watching his game.” (h/t: SI/All 76ers)

When will James Harden return from injury?

Philly’s main duo, James Harden and Joel Embiid are both out with injuries. Harden suffered a tendon strain in his foot in early November and is out since then. Since his injury, James has missed more than ten straight games.

Meanwhile, Embiid is out due to a left mid-foot sprain and has missed more than three straight games.

However, both the stars are rehabbing hard to get back to the team. But it seems like Harden will be back sooner than Embiid.

On November 17 Harden revealed that he is on pace to return in the next two weeks. This means he will definitely be back by December.
