Former WCW & TNA star Daffney, Shannon Spruill, passes away after sharing an Instagram video
Former WCW and TNA star Daffney aka Shannon Spruill, has reportedly passed away at 46 after facing mental problems for a long time.
She posted an Instagram video on Wednesday night, where she didn’t look in good mental space and appeared suicidal.
SHIMMER Wrestling announced her demise via a social media post on Twitter after getting the news from Daffney’s close friend Lexie Fyfe.
She wrote:
“We are very sad to have to announce the passing of Shannon Spruill aka Daffney Unger @screamqueendaff. We are posting this at the request of her family. Please respect their privacy at this trying time. I will miss you, my logical sister from another mister.”
Fyfe told about Daffney’s battle with her mind before her death to TMZ Sports and urged everyone going with mental health issues to get help.
Daffney was a part of WCW from 1999-2001 and then worked for TNA from the year 2008-2011. She debuted as the imprudent girlfriend of wrestler David Flair, the son of WWE Hall of Fame Ric Flair.
The Scream Queen played versatile roles in her career with in-ring action, managerial work, and even acting. She also worked with various promotions like ROH, SHINE, etc. Also, she was a one-time WCW Cruiserweight Champion.
The Scream Queen’s last Instagram post stated, “Brain goes to Boston,” which may refer to the Concussion Legacy Foundation, where many pro athletes donate their brains for future studies after their passing.
