Caroline Garcia seems to be getting better with each passing day. The 28-year-old defeated Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals of the US Open 6-3, 6-4.

Caroline Garcia became the third French female player to reach the semifinals in the US Open in the Open Era after Amelie Mauresmo and Mary Pierce. The 28-year-old is yet to drop a set in the tournament. She defeated the young and vibrant Coco Gauff in straight sets to reach her first Grand Slam semifinal.

The 17th seed dominated proceedings from the get-go, winning the first four games in 17 minutes under the lights at the historical Arthur Ashe Stadium. The tickets were sold out for the match as fans came to the stadium to cheer the local 18-year-old Coco Gauff in what was her first quarterfinal at Flushing Meadows.

Garcia has defeated the likes of Kamilla Rakhimova, Anna Kalinskaya, Bianca Andreescu, Alison Riske-Amritraj, and now Coco Gauff to set up a clash with World No. 5 Ons Jabeur in the semifinal.
